::It was a great moment, to repeat ! Public sauna of Tallinn. Men and women separated. Take your sleepers with you, no bath suite. You pay (can rent a towel) and go to men section. You got their your locker key. No individual changing room, you will be naked all time. There is large showers room linked to a steam/hammam. After you can visit the normal hot sauna in a 2nd room with showers and cold water pool. Mainly visited by locals but the responsible in men section speaks a bit English and can explain. Must be tried at least !

::More or less bare bones experience of what used to be an essential part of the culture and still is deeply ingrained in people's lifestyles in Russia. Definitely not a western style spa, and one gets a deeper experience because of it. The heat of the sauna penetrates deeply as if it were infrared. The crowd varies widely but is generally Russian speaking, middle aged and often bearing tattoes. A cultural institution!

::A lovely day today spent at this traditional naked & sex-segregated sauna. Please note this isn't a pan-pipe music, fluffy white towel type of sauna - it has a big very hot traditional sauna, a substantial cold plunge pool, a standard steam room, an area for scrubbing your body and a relaxation area. There is a bar selling beer & birch twigs at reasonable prices. It seems to be frequented with a loyal bunch of locals but as a visitor I was made feel very welcome. The staff are friendly and helpful too. If you are a serious sauna fan you should visit this one - a cultural gem and real treasure.

::The best sauna experience I had in like forever. This is a down to earth honest sauna in its best LOCAL example. Beer, sausage, sauna, hearty laughter, rubbing some snow on itself, cold pool and of course washing thyself. The atmosphere is as original as it gets. I suspect it did not change there for the last 120 years.
