Old Town Alur is in a GREAT location in Tallinn. The hostel is in two buildings. I had a single room with shared baths/showers in the building that does not have the Old Town Alur sign outside. There are a good many shower and toilet stalls (they're separate) and you never had to wait. There was construction in the streets so the hot water was off from 0900 - 2300. Signs were posted to make us aware of the ongoings. The showers have massive showerheads that were spa-like. My room faced a very social courtyard. It wasn't anything ear plugs could mostly drown out. Of course there were audible signs of life, but I was safe and the location can't be beat! I could even walk to the ferry to Helsinki in 15-20 minutes.

Weird shaped hostel in Old Town. I stayed in the new part for 2 nights and everything was great. The beds are confortable and big, with lockers underneath. The lobby area is 24 hours with a bar that has a nice selection of local and international beers, and is also very nice to spend time and meet people. Location is awesome too. Would come back no doubt.

Clean and comfortable enough and perfectly located. Can be a little noisy at night but to be expected given its location. Free tea/coffee available in communal kitchen. Was there two days and not once had to wait to access a toilet or shower room. Recommended for the budget conscious traveller.

Room was super dirty, had dust everywhere and I saw a couple of bugs in it. The place is dingy as heck. It’s extremely poorly marked, and it just looks run down. The staff were very pleasant and the location is good but not worth it. Would not recommend.

Stayed here a couple years ago when it seemed like hostels were everywhere. This time it was a relief to finally stumble upon a few familiar landmarks to find this hostel again. They expanded into bldg next door so there is a better chance of finding a bed.
