  Hästi tore koht, Fraunhoferi teleskoop, mida seal näha saab, oli esimene instrument maailmas, millega mõõdeti tähe kaugus. Tähetornis korraldatakse üsna tihti ka avalikkusele vaatlusõhtuid.

  Ważne miejsce w historii nauk przyrodniczych. To tu pracował Struve - jego nazwisko dziś związane jest z południkiem, którego punkty pomiarowe znalazły się na liście UNESCO

  Tartu Tähetorn (the original Old Observatory) worth visiting as we did in Spring on "Night of Museums", an event where the museums are open for free to the public in Tartu.....the Observatory is not very large, but very well organised & presented and would be particularly interesting to those interested in star gazing and seeing original antique equipment.....~ : )

  Pieni mutta kiintoisa museo jossa paljon tietoa sekä Tarton tutkijoiden merkityksestä tähtitieteelle että yleistä informaatiota. Tornin katolta on hieno, valokuvauksellinen näköala kauas.

  Great exhibition about the history of astronomical research! Historical, well preserved environment. Consider booking a guided tour if you are more than just 1-2 people as it's not too costly and the guides are very good and provide interesting facts (at least the one we had). Ask about the possibility to visit the terrace up the tower. Well worth visiting, one of the prime attractions in Tartu!
