  This is an interesting place - a guesthouse made into an apartment building in a small village with EU money. I assumed it mostly hosted temporary workers in nearby industry, but it did have other tourists besides me - and a French couple at that. For 35EUR, I got a whole apartment for the night as a solo traveller - including a kitchen and en-suite bathroom. The rooms are basic, but clean and everything works. Kitchen has all the basics (inculding a fridge, plates, pots-pans, cutlery, salt-sugar, etc). The receptionist lady was always reachable and kind. The walls are pretty thin, so I heard the neighbours watching TV and talking. There is not much to do in Vao village (nor Koeru for that matter), so it's more of a place to crash for the night and depart.
